How Much Does Assisted Living Cost?

The cost of assisted living depends on many factors:  the apartment size, the services you need, the community itself and the location of the community. The Genworth Cost of Care Survey 2022 says that the median cost for assisted living in CT per month is $5,129, which adds up to $61,548 per year. To put that into some context, the same survey says a private room in a nursing home will cost around $15,170 a month, which is $182,040 per year. Home health aide services average $5,339 per month or $64,068 per year, based on an eight-hour day, 5 days a week.

The Cost of Assisted Living

The average cost of assisted living varies regionally across the state. Fairfield County is the most expensive area, followed by Hartford County. The least costly options, which are slightly less than the national average, are in the New Haven area and other regions of Connecticut.
